INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS (IFS)
Internal Family Systems (IFS), also known as parts work, is a therapeutic approach that helps you understand and build a healthier relationship with the different parts of yourself. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts, feelings, or behaviours, IFS helps you explore what these parts may be protecting you from, with curiosity and compassion.
WHAT IFS CAN HELP WITH:
-
Childhood & Attachment Trauma: Exploring how experiences with emotionally immature, neglectful, or abusive caregivers continue to influence you today.
-
Betrayal & Relationship Trauma: Understanding conflicting emotions, difficulties with trust, and protective responses following relational hurt.
-
Emotional & Narcissistic Abuse: Working through self-doubt, shame, and internalized messages from manipulation, criticism, or gaslighting.
-
Inner Criticism & Self-Worth: Understanding the parts of you that struggle with perfectionism, self-blame, or feeling not good enough.
-
People-Pleasing & Boundary Difficulties: Exploring fears of rejection, conflict, or abandonment that make it difficult to prioritize your own needs.
-
Anxiety & Emotional Overwhelm: Understanding protective patterns such as overthinking, hypervigilance, avoidance, or over-functioning in relationships.
